JAMALDE steps into the limelight – The dancer behind Samir & Viktor, JEM, Sean Banan and others
The debut single “Turn It Up” is out now!
Jamalde! The entertainer who started his career in the northern parts of Sweden by breakdancing in the streets , but soon decided to head to Stockholm to move forward in his career.
Everything took off pretty quickly where he began dancing in music videos and behind artists like JEM, and Sean Banan. For 3 years he worked as a dancer in Melodifestivalen behind Sean Banan and toured all over Sweden. He Works as a DJ in the clubs around fashionable nightclub area Stureplan in Sthlm and competed in the largest DJ competition at Café Opera “HTC DJ Challenge 2011” where he reached the finals.
Over the past year, he has worked as a DJ and dancer to Samir and Viktor touring heavily around the country. It is now time for JAMALDE to step into the limelight.
– I always wanted to be an singing artist since childhood but coincidences have done that I instead have worked behind other artists dancing, Dj-ing and doing background vocals until now.
– You have to start somewhere, and as a background dancer you are one of the gang, and it has felt amazing. I have learned a lot about the music industry and have acquired a lot of experience standing on the big stages and performing in major television productions such as the Swedish (Melodifestivalen)Eurovision Song Contest, Lotta på Liseberg, Sommarkrysset, Sing-along at Skansen amongst others. Now I feel ready to focus on my own career and my own songs.
I also feel that my singing had to stand back a bit because of all the dancing for other artists. Singing has always been one of my major interests. But to sing only in the shower and behind other artists has not felt sufficient. Therefore, it now feels great to work in the studio with my own voice and my own songs with very talented producers.
I am very much looking forward getting out on the road touring with my own show and dancers.
